Monarch Painting is a decorative painting firm in Redding, CT that specializes in faux finishes and trompe l’oeil. It is owned by Victor DeMasi, who particularly enjoys delighting clients with custom murals that feature natural history subjects, such as native wild flowers, and Monarch butterflies painted in unlikely corners of their houses.

About Victor DeMasi

Victor DeMasi owns Monarch Painting and is on the referral list maintained by the Connecticut Historical Trust. He has done historical painting projects for Yale, the National Park Service, and the State of Washington.  Victor is also known for his writing, teaching, and lecturing.  His work has been featured in House and Garden, The New York Times, Yankee Magazine, Connecticut Magazine, Fine Home Buildings, Fine Wood Working, and The Readers Digest Book of Tools and Skills.  He is a regular contributor of articles to American Painting Contractor and Faux Finisher Magazine penning over 140 columns. He has worked in over 1000 residences, and includes Richard Gere, Blake Lively and Patricia Hearst among his clients.
